Call of the Wild

Theater in the Bush - September 2021

Inspiration

Many people escaped to the Yukon during the pandemic, in order to get away from the stress of big cities and re-connect with nature. Yet, in the Zoom calls and work-from-home era, it is often hard to get away from technological necessities.

Description

This satyrical piece was 10min-long and was played multiple times during the 2 nights of the festival. After a short introduction around the table, the public was divided in smaller groups in all directions, following strings of light to specific picnic stations. At each station, a food item would resemble its natural environment. Tablets were installed at each spot and Annie would video call each station to survey their impressions on their finger food. The piece would end with a bowl of soup for each participant.
