Nunavut Children Puppetry Project

Kamatau Piktanut was a project of Children Puppetry performance in collaboration with École Trois Soleils in Iqaluit, Nunavut, Canada in May 2015. In one week, the students read the play and personified their characters through acting exercises, learned how to build their puppet, to manipulate it, and staged the tale. The theme was a trip around the world and cultural differences therefore I selected short tales from Japanese, Hindu, Chaga, Micmac, and Australian aboriginal traditions. Each of the 5 groups of age had a different puppet according to the level of difficulty its manipulation would be. The night of the performance was a success.

Here is a short video about it.
