Coffee Shop Community Creation
Taking over a coffee shop by the student community, I was put in charge, during the Fall 2015, with a comity of directors, professors, and members of the Student Council, to re-create the menu offer, the production organisation, the visual and marketing of the enterprise, managing the new team (schedules, hiring, daily openings and closings, training), rearranging, repainting, decorating the dining room with green walls, organising activities in it to stimulate the community life it created. The creation of a communal yet capitalist food counter was a long, huge creation and teamwork responsability.
Like Daniel Spoerri before me with his Spoerri Restaurant, central for the movement Eat Art, the space was also used for food-related events in the building situated at 3535 rue St-Denis, within the cooking school ITHQ.
